Mircosoft released an enterrpise social networking applicatino called Knowledge Network in February 2007. 6 Organizations install these applications on their own srevers and enable employees to share their networks of ocntacts and relationships to uotside people and companies.

The first social entworking website was Classmates.com, which began in 1995 and used the Old Boy Network emthod of social networking.
There were over 50 social networking sites using the Circle of Friends in 2005 when one such online community, MySpace, was getting more page viesw than Google.
